HR Officer

You’ll be the go-to expert navigating industrial relations, unions, and compliance to ensure operations run like clockwork in a high-energy Southern African industrial powerhouse.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle the full spectrum of industrial relations – from leading disciplinaries and grievances to mastering dispute resolution that keeps production lines firing.
Spearhead union engagements and negotiations, building bridges with reps like NUMSA to foster a rock-solid labour environment.
Step up as the company’s voice at CCMA and labour forums, turning complex cases into wins.
Drive compliance across South African labour laws – LRA, BCEA, EEA – while sharpening internal policies and employee records.
Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, Employment Equity plans, and statutory submissions to build a diverse, skilled team.
Champion training and development, crafting Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR) that upskill the crew.
Partner with management on HR strategy, offering sharp advice on employee matters in a fast-paced manufacturing setup.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
At least 3 years in an HR role within manufacturing or unionised environments – the more hands-on, the better.
Solid track record tackling disciplinary hearings, grievances, and CCMA battles.
Deep grasp of South African labour legislation, ready to apply it daily.
Experience negotiating with unions and handling Employment Equity reporting.
Skilled in WSP/ATR, plus top-notch admin and reporting chops.
Conflict resolution wizard with negotiation flair, integrity that holds up under pressure, and assertive fairness.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and the knack for connecting with management and union leaders alike.
