Junior IT Governance Administrator

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in maintaining and updating IT policies, procedures, and standards whilst tracking compliance with frameworks like COBIT and ISO 27001

Maintain comprehensive documentation registers for IT assets, access controls, and system approvals

Help manage the IT risk register, log incidents, and support risk assessments for new systems, vendors, and projects

Coordinate follow-ups on remediation actions across teams

Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits and compile monthly compliance reports

Track and follow up on audit findings until closure

Liaise with IT, legal, compliance, and business teams to gather information for governance reviews

Schedule and record minutes for IT governance meetings

Communicate policy updates to staff in clear, accessible language

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business information technology, or a related field

0–2 years’ experience in IT governance, compliance, audit, or risk management (or equivalent exposure)

Basic knowledge of data protection principles and IT control frameworks

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Integrity when handling confidential information

Analytical thinking – you spot gaps and inconsistencies in processes

Solid time management and ability to juggle multiple deadlines

Collaborative approach to working across departments
