Job Description:

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing and directing payroll procedures, ensuring compliance with laws and tax obligations, supervising the payroll team, and maintaining accurate payroll records.

Job Requirements:

  • BCom Finance or related qualification
  • Solid Payroll experience
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong Accounting skills and Finance competency
  • Advanced Payroll Tax knowledge and proven experience
  • Strong solid understanding of relevant tax legislation and employment conditions

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct payroll procedures
  • Manage compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations
  • Supervise and coach payroll team.
  • Oversee correctness of input and monthly salary payments.
  • Manage and control payroll database.
  • Processing terminations for all the companies.
  • Ensuring that day-to-day functions of payroll are performed while guiding the payroll team.
  • Liaison with SA Revenue Services in respect of all employee tax issues.
  • Annual payroll audit. 
  • Implementing and reviewing all systems and procedures in respect of payroll.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
  • Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
