Position Purpose:

To build and manage a portfolio of corporate and fleet accounts on behalf of MasterDrive’s training division. The Sales Account Manager is responsible for generating new business, growing existing client relationships, and ensuring seamless delivery of MasterDrive’s driver training and road safety solutions. This role requires a proactive, target-driven individual who can manage a full sales cycle – from prospecting and proposals through to post-sale follow-up – within the operational parameters of the division.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Core Functions:

  • Promotes, sells and secures orders from existing and prospective corporate and fleet clients through a relationship-based approach.
  • Demonstrates MasterDrive’s products and services and assists clients in identifying the solutions best suited to their needs.

 

Duties include:

  • Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective clients in the assigned territory or market segment to generate new business for MasterDrive.
  • Conduct telephone calls, in-person visits and formal presentations to existing and prospective clients.
  • Research and identify prospective clients and assess their potential for MasterDrive’s products and services.
  • Develop clear, accurate and professionally presented proposals and quotations for current and prospective clients within agreed turnaround times.
  • Analyse territory or market potential and determine the value of existing and prospective accounts.
  • Create and manage a client value plan that highlights profile, share and growth opportunities.
  • Identify the advantages of MasterDrive’s products and services relative to competitors.
  • Plan and organise personal sales strategy to maximise return on time investment for the assigned territory or segment.
  • Provide management with timely oral and written reports on client needs, challenges, competitive activity and new business opportunities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of MasterDrive’s product and service offering, market conditions and industry trends.
  • Represent MasterDrive at trade shows, industry events and road safety forums as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in the CRM system daily.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or related field (advantageous)

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a B2B sales or account management role
  • Experience in the fleet, motor, insurance, road safety or training industry is advantageous
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint; Excel intermediate to advanced)
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
  • Valid South African driver’s licence (essential)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective time management and ability to manage a high-volume pipeline

Responsibilities:

Customer Services

  • Actions that ensure 100% customer satisfaction
  • All sales queries are responded to within 2 hours of receipt.
  • Standard sales queries are actioned within 1 working day; specialised queries within 3 working days.
  • Continuous follow-ups are conducted within 2 working days of the last response.
  • Complaints are referred and/or responded to within 1 working day.
  • Relevant branch or team members are included in all client correspondence pertaining to them.
  • All required updates are made to relevant reports (call reports, CRM, etc.) on the day changes are determined.
  • All emails are read within 4 hours of receipt.

Targets – Steps that ensure all relevant targets are met

  • 100% achievement of monthly revenue and call targets.
  • Weekly documented communication with the Sales Team Leader regarding client accounts.
  • Weekly documented progression report of sales activities submitted by Friday.
  • Daily documented report of sales activities maintained.
  • Detailed and accurate pipeline tracking reported at the end of each week.
  • Minimum number of new prospect calls per week as agreed with the Sales Team Leader.

Procedural & Administration Compliance – Ensuring all stipulated administration and procedural requirements are met 100% of the time

  • All reports submitted within the stipulated timeline (no exceptions unless otherwise negotiated).
  • Weekly feedback provided to the Sales Team Leader by Friday.
  • 100% compliance with booking and sales procedures.
  • Weekly contact maintained with relevant departments to discuss operations.
  • All CRM entries are up to date on a daily basis.
  • Customer research conducted on all new clients prior to first contact.
  • All preparation for the weekly sales meeting completed prior to the meeting.
