Business Analyst – Gauteng based role

Understanding the project outcomes, and through a structured process, modelling, validating and translating the client’s needs into business requirement that are then used to craft a technical and/or business solution. The business analyst will be expected to use their in-depth experience and expertise in business analysis to achieve quality outputs in content, methodology and artefacts.
This role is ideal for a Senior Business Analyst who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for process improvement, and can work effectively within cross-functional teams to drive business success.
Responsibilities
Depending on the client and project, the successful candidate will be expected to perform below functions, or a subset thereof:
- Working with the client to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations and processes
- Gather, interpret and document requirements from the business (through e.g. Business Requirements Document (BRD); Process Analysis; Feasibility and Needs Analysis; Gap Analysis; Due Diligence)
- Ensure that stakeholders are fully engaged, understand and are in agreement with your documented requirements
- Gathering critical information from meetings and producing useful outputs.
- Participate in the solution design process
- Define the test cases and acceptance criteria for unit and/or user acceptance testing
- Assist with unit and/or user acceptance testing
- Effectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
- Escalate potential risks/issues
- Self-manage deliverables to completion

Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification or Certificate/Diploma in Business Analysis from industry recognized training institution is advantageous (e.g. FTI; IIBA or SAFe)
Minimum Experience
- 5 years’ experience as Business Analyst, working on projects within the Investment Management Industry.
- Good understanding of operational processes within the Investment Management industry (front, middle and back office)
- Experience in communicating with clients and facilitating workshops
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies for technology-driven solutions.
- Experience in business process management software and methodologies; strong knowledge and us of tools such as JIRA, as well as process mapping tools (e.g. Visio).
- Proficiency with SQL or equivalent would be advantageous.
