Senior Financial Assistant

 

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Assistant to join their team and support our financial department in delivering high quality reporting, analysis and administrative excellence.

 

LOCATION: Wilgers Oncology centre, Pretoria

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and reconcile financial records, ledgers, and accounts.
  • Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashâflow management activities.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims with accuracy and speed.
  • Assist in audit preparation and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess internal controls, identify risks, and recommend process improvements.
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decisionâmaking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial procedures and controls.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior finance staff when needed.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a financial or accounting role in the Healthcare/Financial Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and audit processes.
  • Ability to analyse data and present financial insights clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks).
  • High attention to detail and exceptional numerical skills.
  • Excellent organisational and timeâmanagement abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport essential.

Good understanding of tax regulations and audit processes

Confident in analysing data and presenting financial insights clearly to non-finance colleagues

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and accounting software such as Sage, Pastel, or QuickBooks

High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy

Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to manage deadlines and competing priorities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team

Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport
