Service Engineer / Junior Project Engineers CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Get involved across the full lifecycle of mechanical projects, from planning through to onsite execution and support. Expect a healthy mix of office-based planning and documentation, with regular trips to site to see your work come to life.

Plan and execute projects for heavy steel equipment such as conveyors, bins and related machinery

Take the lead on onsite maintenance, technical service, installations and commissioning

Conduct operator and client training to ensure equipment is used safely and effectively

Prepare technical documentation, standard work procedures and detailed job instructions

Carry out project and site risk assessments and drive OHSA compliance

Perform basic mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault finding and troubleshooting

Keep a close eye on budgets, costs and deadlines to ensure projects stay on track

REQUIREMENTS

A solid technical foundation and a practical mindset will go a long way here, especially in a production or heavy engineering environment where reliability and uptime matter.

National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or higher

3–5 years’ practical experience in a similar service or project role in heavy / mechanical equipment would be advantageous

Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Strong multitasking and organisational skills to juggle multiple projects and sites

Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills for client and third-party interaction

Highly detail-oriented with a structured, methodical approach to work

Experience in managing client and third-party relationships on technical projects

Exposure to project and team coordination or management

Functionally independent, accountable and comfortable taking ownership

Computer literacy across Google Suite, MS Office, SolidWorks and MS Projects

Own reliable transport for travel to client sites
