Systems Administrator

Job Specification

Clear Access is looking for a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of company’s data centre and server environments. Your duties include installing and updating antivirus or malware protection software, Rollout of new systems and applications as required by the company, responding to inhouse and customer concerns, document new IT processes and coordinating with company leadership to determine new technologies that could enhance their company’s systems.

You should be able to identify any problems in the system, anticipate potential issues and repair systems and software when necessary.

Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure software and hardware.
• Manage network servers and technology tools.
• Perform root cause analysis for production errors.
• Set up Microsoft 365 accounts and workstations.
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues.
• Implementation of security configurations & patching in line with organisational requirements.
• Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as a System Administrator, or similar role.

• Strong Windows & Linux system administration and Networking background

• Linux installation, configuration, security and troubleshooting.
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.

• Strong skills in network services such as DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTP

• Knowledge of security best practises and data backup/recovery
• The ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users.
• Ability to create scripts in Power Shell, Bash or other languages.
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

• Interpersonal and communication skills

• Knowledge of Cloud platform, i.e. Nutanix, VMware is advantageous.
• Linux installation, configuration, security and troubleshooting.
