    About the Role:

    Our client, a leader in the Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) and Smoke Extraction industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager to drive growth, lead a sales team, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the built environment sector.

    This role requires a technically competent and commercially astute professional who can interpret engineering designs, prepare detailed proposals, and lead technical sales initiatives in a competitive project-based market.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue and margin targets.

    • Drive new business development and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers including:

      • Fire Engineers

      • Consulting Engineers

      • Quantity Surveyors

      • Architects / PQS’s

      • Project Management Consultants

      • Main Contractors / Roofing Contractors

      • Property Managers / Developers

      • Local Authorities and End Users

    • Interpret and analyze technical drawings and schematics to provide accurate and competitive solutions.

    • Prepare and approve costing sheets, ventilation design proposals, tenders, and project quotations.

    • Compile and present sales tenders, project proposals, and reports.

    • Develop and execute client engagement strategies to strengthen long-term partnerships.

    • Collaborate with the technical and project teams to ensure seamless execution from tender to completion.

    • Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.

    • Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and trade exhibitions.

    • Travel nationally as required for client meetings and project site visits.

    Requirements:

    Education & Experience:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification (Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Sales, or Business Management) or qualified by extensive industry experience.

    • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Technical Sales, with proven leadership in the HVAC, Ventilation, or Smoke Extraction industries.

    • Demonstrated success in compiling and managing technical tenders and large project-based sales.

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of HVAC system design principles.

    • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.

    • Solid experience in cost estimation, proposal writing, and contract negotiation.

    Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

    • Strategic thinker with strong leadership and team management abilities.

    • Self-driven, professional, and client-focused approach.

    • High level of integrity and accountability.

    • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
