Position overview
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our clients Germiston Depot. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, optimizing warehouse layout, ensuring efficient order fulfilment, and leading a team of warehouse staff. The Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for maintaining safety standards and implementing best practices to improve productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Warehouse Operations: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
1.1 Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfilment.
1.2 Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes to maximize productivity and accuracy.
1.3 Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal stock levels.
1.4 Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, and warehouse activities.
2. Store Control and Administration: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
2.1 Generating Reports as per stakeholder requirements.
2.2 Submission and follow up on monthly invoices.
2.3 Ensure accurate record keeping of contractual documentation.
2.4 Dispatch all materials and equipment as needed.
2.5 Enter stock items in the system and allocating them to their respective jobs.
2.6 Implement order, receive, shipping and storing of stock procedures.
2.7 Ensures adequate stock levels of all equipment/ products.
2.8 Adhere to Service Level Agreement standards and requirements
3. Health & Safety: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
3.1 Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
3.2 Enforce the use of all safety equipment issued as part of the working process.
3.3 Implement and uphold health and safety regulations in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
4. Leadership: The duties shall include but not be limited to:
4.1 Lead warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
4.2 Ensure the timeous submission of payroll documentation.
4.3 Identify and applying best practise and drive continuous improvements.
Education and Experience
• Matric, NQF equivalent or NQF Level 4 or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Minimum 3-years’ experience as a Depot Manager, Warehouse Manager, Logistics Manager, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
• Knowledge of procurement, logistics, inventory control, and distribution.
• Knowledge of ISO principles will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation. Qualifications and or certification in OHS will be advantageous.
