CNC Bending Brake Operator

As a CNC Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for setting-up, operating and maintaining Press Brake machines to produce accurate bends on various steel materials.

 

JOB TITLE/ POSITION:    CNC PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR

 

REPORTING TO:              FOREMAN (DIRECT)

                                        OPERTIONS MANAGER (INDIRECT)

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Machine Set-Up:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, and job cards to understand bending requirements.
• Set up and calibrate bending machines based on job specifications.
• Ensure proper alignment and positioning of tooling for the machine.

Machine Operation:

• Operate bending machines to bend metal according to defined angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Monitor machine operations to detect any deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensure the quality of finished products by conducting regular inspections.

Machine Handling:

• Load and unload materials into/from the bending machine.
• Arrange materials in accordance with the job order.

Quality Control

• Inspect finished products and make adjustments to ensure parts meet quality standards and specifications.

Maintenance:

• Perform routine maintenance on bending machines to ensure proper functioning.
• Troubleshoot and address minor issues with the machine to minimize downtime.

Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Documentation:

• Record production data, defect details, machine maintenance details and any adjustments made during the manufacturing process and report any issues or deviations from specifications to the foreman.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Education & Experience:

• High school matric imperative.
• Technical training or 2 years machine operation experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with various types of bending machines.
• Experience using CNC technology preferred.

 

Skills:

• Willing to work 6am – 6pm shift rotations / night shift.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Must have computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
