Our company is a dynamic and ambitious family owned and run export trading business based in Durban. We have been in existence for the last 51 years with a third generation in place. We specialize in the export of FMCGs, fruit and vegetables, meat, wines and building materials to over 55 countries throughout the world.  We have subsidiary businesses in various other countries that we are involved in.

We are looking for someone to join our team in the role of Compliance Administrator. We are looking for someone who has excellent computer literacy with advanced skills in using Excel, someone who is responsible, quick, and accurate.  Previous experience in working with FMCG products and administration is a must. Experience in a compliancy role would be advantageous.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Monitoring market regulations and guidelines to determine their impact on imports into the markets in which we trade. This includes staying up to date with changes in labelling, ingredient, and packaging regulations and guidelines.
  • Reviewing and approving label designs and formats to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant markets.
  • Maintaining and updating label-related records and documentation
  • Requesting and scrutinise manufacturing declarations from suppliers to ensure compliancy in markets for shipments.
  • Creating compliant manufacturing declarations (where required) on supplier templates for each relevant shipment.

  • Organisational skills: Must be able to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks including manufacturing declarations.

  • Adaptability: Must be able to adapt to changes in regulations and be proactive in ensuring the organisation stays compliant.

  • Proactive: Must be able to work independently and apply own initiative to projects and workflow.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Need to have completed matric, tertiary education would be advantageous.
  • Fully computer literate (Word / Adobe Acrobat / Teams)
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel
  • Previous experience in administration and compliance of FMCG products
  • Ideally experience in a compliance role
  • Experience in project management would be a bonus
  • Knowledge of Bartender labelling software advantageous
