Job Details

Process Excellence:

  • Prepare estimates based on documented drawings and plans
  • Measure work planned for quotations and or new purchase orders and for invoicing
  • Pricing work done for invoicing
  • Assess and provide accurate value related input onto financial reporting system
  • Calculate and verify quantities on take-off sheets, backup documents on completed work
  • Prepare claims / payment certificates
  • Prepare quotations for upcoming projects
  • Prepare monthly revenue calculations
  • Establish correct costing for ordering and invoice purpose
  • Participate in external regulator audits when required
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager
  • Ensure consistent good quality is achieved and delivered on various projects

Data and reporting  

  • Prepare and report on productive and downtime man hours.
  • Report deviations from set standards
  • Prepare monthly revenue reports

Technology  

  • Use of relevant and accurate Quality measurement equipment
  • Use of computerised Quality survey systems

 

Client Service and focus

  • Ensure that a high standard of customer relations with internal and external stakeholders are set and maintained
  • Raise and resolve issues with client and operations
  • Attend meetings with client to resolve outstanding payments

Minimum Qualifications desired:

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • A relevant, post matric Quantity Survey, or related qualification
  • Registration and certification with regulatory Quantity Survey Regulator (added advantage)

  • Proven experience as a Quantity surveyor
  • Good health and fitness to perform long walks and standing while performing estimating procedures
  • Relevant Quantity survey accounting and calculation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Computer literacy of a high level
  • Ability to function effectively and efficiently in a high paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities

Knowledge desired:

  • Knowledge of Quantity Survey systems
  • Knowledge on the use of relevant software
  • In-depth industry, processes, principles, practises and procedures knowledge.
  • At least 36 months practical experience in Quantity Surveyingr
  • Experience in and understanding revenue collection within a Petrochem environment
