Safety Watcher

Operational objectives:

• Conduct inspections
• Recommend health and safety improvements
• Investigate incidents
• Identify potential hazards, risks and dangers
• Implement emergency evacuation protocols
• Conduct health and safety audits
• Perform confined space- safety watching
• Provide input during risk assessment procedures
• Conduct toolbox talks as and when called upon
• Monitor and enforce stringent health and safety protocols
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all stakeholders

Data and reporting  

• Prepare and report on health and safety matters within site.
• Report deviations from set standards
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly health and safety matters

Technology  

• Use of relevant and accurate Health and safety tools
• Use of computerised reporting systems like CIS

Minimum Qualifications 

• National Senior Certificate (Matric)
• A relevant, post matric health and safety qualification
• Registration and certification with regulatory health and safety authority
• First Aid Level 3
• Minimum 1 year or more experience as a Safety watcher in a Petrochem environment
• Computer literacy
