SPECIFICATION

Idwala Industrial Holdings, with interests in lime, carbonates, magnetite and other industrial minerals in various locations, has an opportunity for a Project Manager based at its operation in Danielskuil, reporting directly to the Group Projects Manager. The objective of the role is to manage risks and quality on projects by ensuring the accurate development of project scope, schedules, and budgets cost are maintained.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the capex budget for the division.
    • Ensure that projects are managed in line with Idwala’s project methodology.
    • Ensure that projects are properly scoped, involving all relevant stakeholders.
    • Ensure that scopes of works are properly constructed to allow procurement to go out to market for tenders.
    • Compile and finalise all assigned Capex Votes.
    • Manage projects from concept to plant hand-over.
    • Managing and maintaining the Project Management system (initiation, planning, implementation and reporting).
    • Manage costs within budgets and maintain agreed timeframes for all projects.
    • Ensure adherence to safety procedures for all contractors.
    • Implement and manage contracts, guarantees and performance/service level agreements with the various contractors, suppliers and consultants.
    • Identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement and motivating and implementing appropriate changes.
    • Participate in/manage projects within the Idwala Industrial Holdings Group as and when required.
    • Manage and monitor all Social and Labour Plan projects for the Industrial Minerals operation.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary (BSc, BEng or equivalent) qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical and/or any other relevant engineering discipline, specialising in Engineering Projects.
    • Registration as a Project Management Professional (PMP) will be an advantage.
    • Suitably proficient in Microsoft projects, Microsoft Office, CAD and Inventor.
    • Excellent planning and communication skills.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a heavy engineering field.
    • Experience with mining mineral processing equipment.
