We are fast becoming a leading mid to high-resolution earth observation camera supplier for CubeSats and small satellites. Our optical payload products aim to offer complete space imaging solutions for small satellites with plans to expand. We are a fast-growing, dynamic team of enthusiastic engineers that supplies space and satellite companies from around the globe.

Position Overview: The technician will join the Production Team and assist in activities regarding, but not limited to, administration, harnessing, mechanics assembly, electronics assembly, integration and testing.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities:

  • Assembly, Integration and Testing of complex harnesses: Precise wire preparation, stripping, crimping and soldering
  • Pin placement according to harness specifications
  • Back-potting of connectors with epoxy adhesive
  • Buzz testing and functional testing of harnesses
    • Assembly, Integration and Testing of Electronic Assemblies: Assist with production activities of Imager Electronics
  • Incoming inspection and serialisation of Printed Circuit Boards
  • Staking and conformal coating of Printed Circuit Assemblies
  • Read, interpret and execute electronic and mechanical assemblies based on provided procedure or assembly instructions
    • Ensure production related documentation is completed and up to date:
  • Production Orders
  • Production Work Instructions
  • Key Inspection Points Checked (Quality Control is enforced)
  • All Quality Assurance points are signed off by QA or Team Lead

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must have a National Senior Certificate as a minimum.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the following areas: High complexity, low volume, electronic printed circuit assembly.
  • SMD hand soldering
  • Harness manufacturing
  • Handling electrostatic sensitive discharge (ESDS) components and printed circuit assemblies
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word and Excel)

Recommendations:

  • IPC-Class 3 certification will be beneficial.
  • Previous work experience in a cleanroom environment.
