Mechanic LDV – Heavy Equipment & EME

Reporting to: 

Maintenance Foreman/General Engineering Supervisor (GES)

Functions:

Strip faulty engine components/parts & conduct preventative check-up

Conduct proper fault finding/diagnosing and determine appropriate parts required for repairs

Lifting/rigging of heavy engine components in accordance with SOPs

Clean parts/ components thoroughly using only appropriate cleaning materialsIn compliance with vendor’s technical specifications/standards

Test vehicle properly to determine whether it is operational

Conduct proper housekeeping and clean workplace & tools

Conduct safety risk analysis (where applicable) Conduct applicable spares inventory weekly and report

Report safety incidents/accidentsComply with safety, health, security and environmental standards

Do pre and post assessments of equipment sent for repairs

Provide technical assistance and direction to other functional groups in order to drive quality improvements and enhance the maintenance function

Liaise with planned maintenance officers to ensure inspection and audit findings are scheduled for remediation

Develop the critical spares and sub assembly register for all equipment on the operations
