The company based in the United Kingdom is looking for a fully remote resource to be based in South Africa, please note you must have your own laptop/PC, a stable wi-fi connection, a battery (in case load shedding occurs) AND be able to work Monday to Thursday UK hours (between 1 -2 hours different to SA) – plus Fridays SA time.
About the Role
As a Paraplanner, you will work closely with Advisers and Financial Planning Executives to deliver clear, robust and compliant financial planning recommendations. You will play a key part in ensuring clients receive tailored, fully independent advice by providing high quality research, analysis and written reports. This position suits a Diploma qualified professional who enjoys complex casework, values accuracy, and takes pride in producing wellâreasoned recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse clients’ circumstances, portfolios and objectives to prepare clear, comprehensive recommendation reports for Advisers.
- Provide high quality technical, administrative and research support across investments, pensions and protection.
- Undertake whole-of-market research to identify appropriate solutions aligned to client needs and risk profiles.
- Conduct detailed asset allocation and portfolio analysis on existing investments, quantifying and interpreting client positions.
- Liaise with the Regulatory & Technical team to ensure all recommendations and documentation remain fully compliant.
- Prioritise workload effectively by coordinating regularly with Advisers and their support teams.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with Advisers regarding advice in progress and key case milestones.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and third-party product providers.
- Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings, adding technical insight where required.
- Ensure all client records, data and files are maintained accurately, efficiently and in line with regulatory standards.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives designed to enhance processes, controls and client outcomes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Financial Planning (as a minimum) or equivalent level 4 qualification.
- Proven experience in a Paraplanning or similar technical role within private wealth management or financial planning.
- Demonstrable ability to produce accurate, well-structured and comprehensive recommendation reports.
- Experience analysing client circumstances and objectives to support suitable holistic financial advice.
- Strong proficiency in complex report writing with excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Experience liaising with third-party providers and managing cases through to completion.
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements and working to targeted service standards and procedures.
- High standard of personal organisation, time management and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Evidence of continual learning and ongoing development of technical knowledge.
- Confident IT skills, including MS Office, Outlook, Excel and relevant back-office systems.
- Ambitious, goal-orientated mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
