Accountant in Practice

SPECIFICATION

We are a dynamic and fast-paced accounting practice seeking a motivated and results-oriented Accountant Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a young professional with 1–3 years of experience in an accounting firm who is looking to grow within a professional environment.

We are looking for a stable accounting graduate – with 1 – 3 years working experience (preferably in a small company not a large corporate) – to join our client serving team. 

We are registered with SAIPA and SAIT, based in Gardens Cape Town

You will be responsible for:

• Assist with bookkeeping, financial statements, and tax calculations for various clients 

• Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

• Liaise with clients, relevant departments and other stakeholders regarding accounting and tax matters

• Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and all statuotory submissions (SARS, DOL, PAIA etc)

• Collaborate with team members to meet tight deadlines

What does it take to successfully undertake this role?

• A completed B.Com (Accounting) or other relevant degree
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in an accounting practice
• Experience working with accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage Online, Pastel and others)
• Outstanding self organising and time management skills
• Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles
• Excellent communication skills — verbal and written
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong sense of accountability and ability to work under pressure
• Willingness to learn and grow professionally
• Team player with a positive, proactive attitude
• Experience in interacting with customers
• Excellent PC literacy
• Confident personality
