KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

DESCRIPTION

STATUTORY

Reconciliations

  • Review Balance Sheet Reconciliations prepared by the management accountants based on account significance.
  • Follow up on any outstanding items and ensure long-standing outstanding items are cleared timeously.

IFRS 16

  • Prepare IFRS 16 impairment calculation for half year and year end reporting purposes.
  • Prepare IFRS 16 reconciliation for half year and year end reporting purposes.
  • Prepare IFRS 16 forecasts on a quarterly basis, including for 3 Year Plan and budget submissions.

REPORTING

Month End

  • Review month-end journals prepared by the head office management accountants.
  • Review of monthly income statement line items. Perform investigations to determine deviations from budget/forecast and significant growths from the prior year.
  • Present monthly income statement and related findings to the Financial Manager before final income statement review.
  • Review completed internal templates by the management accountants to ensure accuracy.
  • Review slides for monthly exco reporting and ensure completion by required deadlines.
  • Responsible for monthly review of cost centre reports generated by management accountants
  • Responsible for monthly cost centre planning discussions with Financial Manager and brand cost centre owners

Quarterly Reporting

  • Assist with the compilation and review of the MD reports.
  • Assist Financial Manager to complete the forecasting process.
  • Review slides for quarterly reporting and ensure completion by required deadlines.
  • Review and submission of Pepkor quarterly packs prepared by the management accountants.

3 Year Plan

  • Assist the Financial Manager to determine the 3 year plan timeline and resource planning.
  • Perform first review of cost centre planning done by the head office management accountants (non-store related areas)
  • Present any findings to the Financial Manager in related area’s
  • Review slides for reporting and ensure completion by required deadlines.
  • Review and submission of Pepkor packs prepared by the management accountants.

Budget

  • Assist the Financial Manager in determining the budget timeline and resource planning.
  • Perform first review of cost centre planning done by the head office management accountants (non-store related area’s)
  • Present any findings to the Financial Manager in related area’s
  • Review slides for reporting and ensure completion by required deadlines
  • Review and submission of Pepkor packs prepared by the management accountants.

GENERAL

  • Ad-hoc – Support the Financial Manager with ad-hoc reporting requirements as and when they arise.
  • Brand Support – Assist cost centre owners in the brand to resolve any cost centre related queries.
  • Fixed Assets – Responsible for handling/resolving all fixed asset queries relating to disposals and additions.
  • Insurance – Responsible for providing insurance providers with all necessary insurance documentation annually.
  • Audit – Coordination of audit requests as they arise and ensuring delivery before the required due date.
  • Year end – Perform inventory capitalisation, stock obsolescence and lay-by adjustment calculations if not provided by Ackermans.
  • People management
  • Liaise with direct reports regarding leave and work from home requests.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance with direct reports and raise any issues with the Financial Manager where necessary.
  • Perform performance evaluations as required by company processes.
