A Cape Town-based business offering end-to-end cloud solutions is urgently looking for an experienced professional who assists organizations on how best to use Cloud Solutions to achieve their business objectives and is actively involved with clients in implementing these solutions.  As external consultants, your expertise is provided to clients on a project basis so you will engage with multiple and changing clients throughout your career with us – you may even work on different client projects simultaneously.  A project can last days, weeks or months.  A flexible attitude to working patterns is essential as travelling to clients and working on multiple clients/projects is commonplace.  Whilst on projects, consultants can deliver in person or via remote access.

An Azure Engineer is responsible for working with the Azure Architect in the design and then to Implement the Solution proposed and carries overall responsibility for the completion of these engagements with customers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Engage with Solutions Architects within the delivery team as well as Microsoft, the account team and the bigger Group to identify and develop Microsoft Cloud opportunities.
  • Iteratively improve deployment methodologies through process streamlining and automation with clear results that can be quantified and measured.
  • Develop and maintain supportability matrices as Azure Cloud Infrastructure evolves with a focus on Security, Networking, AKS and BCDR.
  • Develop and maintain supportability matrices as Azure Cloud Infrastructure evolves with additional focus on Infrastructure as Code.
  • Develop and maintain Lab environments for use in training and deployment methodology verification.
  • Align with and train sales teams on sales playbooks, processes, and methodologies for the Azure Cloud.
  • Work to standardized level-of-effort(LOE), statement-of-work (SOW) and pricing.
  • Work with ISV’s (Independent Software Vendors) to align with vendor partnerships.
  • Participate and drive customer engagement kick-off meetings.
  • Review Level-Of-Effort (LOE) and Statement-Of-Work (SOW) prior to customer engagements.
  • Support customer-facing sales teams in the creation of level-of-effort (LOE) criteria for specific engagements.
  • As part of the delivery team, ongoing growth within this role additional responsibilities include:
    • Maintain awareness of projects being executed and provide SME knowledge to help with the completion of these projects
    • Provide Pre-Sales support to include qualifying of opportunities
  • Escalate any issues timeously and clearly.
  • Ensure discrete handling of all business information, particularly where confidential information is concerned.
  • Communicate with immediate manager, other company department heads and employees, co-workers, clients and other individuals to coordinate work activities, review the status of work, exchange information, resolve problems or give/receive advice /direction.
  • Administration: maintain an updated Microsoft Office Outlook calendar; completion of any required administration timeously (e.g., response on project reviews)
  • Travel locally, as required, to conduct the company’s business.

REQUIREMENTS  

  • Matric
  • Diploma/Diploma in Informatics (or similar) – Advantageous
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert – Preferred
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in a Microsoft Consulting environment
  • Must have at least 2 years’ Azure experience (There will be an assessment as part of the shortlisting process)
