Business Development Manager

Are you a relationship-driven insurance professional with a strong broker network and a passion for growing profitable business?
We are looking for an energetic Business Development Manager to grow, retain and develop a high-performing broker panel across the George region. You will identify new opportunities, strengthen strategic broker partnerships and deliver against ambitious Gross Written Premium, growth and loss-ratio targets.
What you’ll do

Manage and grow a designated portfolio of brokers, strengthening retention and unlocking new business opportunities

Build a focused regional business and sales plan aligned to market opportunities and growth objectives

Identify, develop and convert new broker prospects

Drive GWP, sales growth, productivity and profitability targets

Underwrite and accept risks within delegated authority, ensuring sound technical judgement

Partner with brokers to understand their businesses and deliver outstanding service

Analyse broker business plans and develop strategic opportunities for future growth

Ensure underwriting standards, governance, risk management and regional sales plans are consistently followed

Implement underwriting actions that support targeted loss ratios and sustainable growth
What you’ll bring

A relevant Degree or National Diploma
-
FAIS compliance
-
5+ years’ experience in the short-term insurance industry
-
Proven business development and sales experience, ideally within the broker channel
-
A strong presence and established relationships within the broker community

Commercial acumen, strong influencing skills and the ability to turn relationships into results
