Business Lecturer CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching & Learning

Bring business and finance content to life across lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.

Design, prepare, and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in business and finance

Develop clear, structured course materials, assessments, and teaching aids that support student success

Supervise student projects, dissertations, and research work, ensuring strong academic standards

Provide ongoing academic advising, mentoring, and support to help students progress academically and professionally

Use digital tools and learning platforms to enhance the learning experience and encourage active participation

Research & Scholarship

Keep one foot in academia and the other in the evolving business world.

Engage in independent and collaborative research within finance or related business disciplines

Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present insights at academic or professional conferences

Contribute to research grant applications and seek external funding where appropriate

Stay current with developments in finance, business education, and industry trends, and feed these into your teaching

Administration & Service

Play a key role in shaping and strengthening the academic department.

Participate in departmental meetings and contribute actively to curriculum design and review

Support quality assurance, accreditation, and continuous improvement initiatives

Assist with student recruitment, open days, admissions processes, and outreach activities

Serve on academic or institutional committees and support community and stakeholder engagement

REQUIREMENTS Education

Honours degree in Finance (minimum requirement)

Experience

Around 2 years’ teaching experience at tertiary level preferred

Skills

Strong verbal and written communication, with confident presentation skills

Ability to inspire, motivate, and support a diverse student body

Solid research and analytical capabilities within finance or business

Good organisational and time-management skills, able to balance teaching, research, and admin

Clear commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching practice
