Our popular retail store, based in the heart of the southern suburbs in Cape Town, requires the expertise of a Fresh Food Manager. Someone with a passion for food, a creative flair and someone who puts customers first. This person will assist with the day-to-day store operations and form part of the management team.
Duties:
– Responsible for Bakery, Deli, Butchery, Cheese bar and Fruit n Veg
– Understanding and experience with food costs – Profit & Loss, stock takes, GP calculations.
– Involved in promotion planning
– Deal with suppliers
– Manage in-store adverts and in-store specials weekly
– Rostering of shifts
– Managing a team, providing guidance and discipline
– Responsible for Food Safety – Very important
– Responsible for the day-to-day running of these service areas in-store
– Form part of the overall management team – assist with opening and closing the store and running the store from time to time.
Experience & Requirements:
– Prior experience in a retail store – fresh produce experience
– Must have proven track record of previous experience in Fresh food department
– Energy, a love for food, innovative and creative
– Ability to lead and inspire a team
– Prior experience managing a team – discipline procedures, guidance, mentoring, etc.
– Ability to manage staff and shift rosters
– Customer oriented
