Laundry Maintenance Technician

SPECIFICATION

We are a large industrial laundry based in Cape Town.
We service the hospitality industry and operate 7 days per week, 24 hours per day, 365 days a year

We are looking for a skilled machine technician to join our maintenance team. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems. 

You need to be a team player who is supportive of the team’s goals and the company’s mission statement.
Having solid experience in the removal / fitting of motor bearings and drum bearings, motor bearings, fault finding of electrical issues are a prerequisite.

The successful candidate will be given some training about our laundry equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose mechanical and/or electrical breakdown using a structured troubleshooting approach
• Identify root causes, carry out corrective repairs and recommend preventive actions
• Remove defective bearings from washing machines’ drums, big to small motors to fit in the new ones
• Preventative maintenance. the service / cleaning of equipment on the regular basis the Laundry Equipment

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis  skills
• Good time management and reliability 
• Occupational health and safety skills at work environment

BONUS CLITERIA

• Must be a South African Citizen
• Must have good communication skills in English
• Having a South African drivers license is a bonus
• Must be willing to work shifts, which could include nights, weekend and week days
• Having experience in a laundry is a bonus.
