Master Maths and Science Tutor

Bring maths and science to life for learners who need clarity, confidence and the right kind of support. This full-time, in-centre tutoring role in Somerset West is ideal for someone who can explain tricky concepts with ease, adapt quickly to different learning needs, and keep lessons engaging from Grade 4 right through to Grade 12.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

You’ll work with learners across Mathematics and Physical Science, helping them strengthen understanding, improve results and build real academic confidence. The role calls for a structured approach, a calm classroom presence and the ability to keep pace with a proven tuition system used in a specialist learning centre environment.

Deliver focused tutoring in Mathematics for Grades 4–12

Support Physical Science learners in Grades 10–12

Adapt teaching methods to suit different ages, abilities and learning styles

Use established tuition materials and methods consistently

Create a positive, organised and supportive learning space

Work closely with the centre team to maintain high teaching standards

Help learners make steady progress and stay motivated

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

This role suits someone with strong subject knowledge, excellent people skills and the confidence to work with learners one-to-one or in small groups. Previous tutoring or teaching experience is helpful, but a solid grasp of the subjects and the right attitude matter most.

Fluent English, spoken and written

Afrikaans fluency is an advantage

Strong Maths knowledge from Grade 4 to Grade 12

Strong Physical Science knowledge for Grade 10 to 12

Minimum 75% in Maths and Physical Science in Grade 12

Clear communication and a patient, encouraging manner

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Teaching qualification or tutoring experience is an advantage

WORKING HOURS

This is a full-time, in-person role with a set centre schedule.

Mondays to Thursdays: 09h00–18h00

Fridays: 09h00–17h00

Saturday mornings: 09h00–13h00
