Picture this: you’re at the heart of a buzzing sports retail store, where every day brings fresh energy from athletes gearing up for their next run, triathlon, or gym session. As the Retail Store Manager, you’ll lead the charge in a high-performance environment, turning foot traffic into loyal fans of premium footwear and apparel while smashing sales targets in a growing retail scene.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dive into the action that keeps the store thriving – from rallying your team to curating standout displays that draw crowds.
  • Maximise sales by driving conversions, setting daily targets for the whole crew (including casuals), and pushing cross- and up-selling like a pro
  • Forge partnerships with local podiatrists, running clubs, and gyms to spark new business and grow the customer database
  • Lead daily team huddles to motivate, share KPIs, divvy up tasks, and unpack mystery shopping insights
  • Recruit, coach, and develop your squad through hands-on training in tech, product knowledge, customer service, loss prevention, podiatry, and sales
  • Handle rostering, feedback, appraisals, inductions, and Eco-time to keep everyone firing on all cylinders
  • Review weekly sell-through reports, tweak merchandising and replenishment, and execute markdowns to keep stock moving
  • Process deliveries same-day, run stock counts, minimise shrinkage, and organise the storeroom for lightning-fast floor replenishment
  • Nail operations: follow the game plan, smash store audits, maintain VM and windows, keep the space spotless, and handle cash-ups, banking, and month-end reports
  • Control expenses, ensure health and safety compliance, and keep uniforms and name badges on point

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bring your A-game if you’ve got the spark to lead in a fast-paced sports retail world.
  • Outgoing, determined self-starter with retail management experience, ideally from a national chain
  • Track record of smashing sales budgets and hitting gross margin goals
  • Strong people leadership – you excel at coaching, motivating, and building high-performing teams
  • Deep stock management know-how, from counts and reports to shrinkage control
  • Sharp merchandising skills and eagle-eye attention to detail
