Overall Purpose of the Role
The Technical Scrum Master plays a key role in enabling agile delivery within development teams, ensuring efficient sprint execution, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a technical and AI-enabled role requiring a balance between agile leadership, technical understanding, and process excellence.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Product Owner, the Scrum Master ensures alignment between business goals and technical execution, fosters team autonomy, and drives accountability. The role focuses on achieving team goals and KPIs, following up on project processes (without micromanaging), and facilitating delivery through collaboration and clear communication.
This individual should have a solid technical background, be able to read and understand code, assist in solutioning problems, and have hands-on experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Atlassian Intelligence or any other tool. Candidates will be required to demonstrate their use of AI tools during the interview process.
The Technical Scrum Master will also manage agile ceremonies, contribute to process improvement, and may occasionally assist in development, testing, or automation using N8N workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation & Scrum Practices
- Lead all agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and grooming sessions.
- Ensure delivery of team goals and KPIs through effective sprint management and process follow-up.
- Maintain visual representation of sprint progress and task tracking using agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello).
- Drive a continuous improvement culture through retrospectives and data-driven insights.
- Ensure team adherence to sprint commitments and Definition of Done.
- Translate product requirements and features into actionable technical tasks.
Technical & AI-Driven Support
- Collaborate with developers to identify blockers and assist in technical solutioning.
- Apply AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Atlassian Intelligence) to streamline planning, estimation, and delivery.
- Build or maintain N8N automations to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Contribute to the improvement of documentation, backlog management, and sprint analytics through AI-enabled methods.
- Demonstrate a hands-on understanding of software engineering concepts and development lifecycles.
Team Support & Collaboration
- Foster a collaborative, transparent, and accountable team culture.
- Support developers, QA engineers, and product teams in achieving sprint deliverables.
- Promote team autonomy, encouraging ownership and independent problem-solving.
- Maintain open, proactive communication with technical and business stakeholders.
- Balance structure and flexibility to ensure both delivery quality and team wellbeing.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Track and analyze sprint metrics to provide performance insights and identify bottlenecks.
- Drive continuous improvement in agile processes, documentation, and delivery cadence.
- Support the creation and maintenance of agile dashboards and reports.
- Adapt processes to the evolving needs of the team and business.
Experience & Skills Required

- At least 1 year of management or leadership experience in a Scrum Master, Delivery Manager, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies.
- Proven ability to read and interpret code (Python, JavaScript, or similar languages).
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Atlassian Intelligence.
- Working knowledge of N8N (license to build workflows).
- Experience facilitating sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- High accountability and ability to drive results without micromanagement.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Trello).

The Ideal Candidate
You are a technical, solutions-oriented agile leader who thrives in fast-paced environments. You balance strategic delivery oversight with hands-on technical insight, using AI tools to work smarter, not harder. You understand the full software delivery lifecycle and can confidently bridge the gap between product, engineering, and delivery.
