Short-Term Insurance Consultant

A permanent, office-based position is available in Aurora, Cape Town for a client-focused Short-Term Insurance Consultant. The role requires strong advisory capability, sound technical insurance knowledge, and the ability to manage a portfolio of personal, commercial, and liability clients with professionalism and precision.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Provide expert advice on short-term insurance products, including personal, commercial, and liability cover.
• Consult with existing and prospective clients to deliver a high standard of service.
• Conduct risk assessments, prepare accurate quotations, and issue policies in line with underwriting guidelines.
• Manage policy amendments, renewals, claims, and client queries promptly and efficiently.
• Build long-term client relationships that support retention and cross-selling.
• Work in full compliance with FAIS, FSCA regulations, and industry best practice.
• Operate independently while contributing effectively within a cohesive team.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Valid RE5 certificate; RE1 is highly advantageous.
• NQF Level 4 or 5 in Short-Term Insurance, or an equivalent FAIS-accredited qualification.
• Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English, as the majority of clients are Afrikaans speaking.
• Proven experience in short-term insurance advisory work, with 10+ years preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• A clear client service focus.
• Computer literacy.
