Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Utility Manager to oversee and manage the water and electrical utility services for approximately sixty clients and growing.

The utility division is undergoing transformation to automate systems by using the latest technology to simplify the reading (remote) of meters. This information is manipulated by software to give accurate and meaningful results to customers 

This division is involved in working with other professionals to use this information to reduce energy and water costs by employing the use of advanced metering technology.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Smart Meter Analytics: Extract, review, and interpret consumption data. Provide practical insights to support monthly billing and detailed investigations.
  • Municipal Account Management: Keep municipal invoice records accurate and up to date, verify and reconcile charges, and submit water meter readings to CoCT on time.
  • Prepaid System Management: Oversee prepaid meter processes, including registrations, token generation, meter replacements, and preparing accurate system reports.
  • Financial Accuracy: Perform monthly reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, assist with budget planning, and ensure contract invoicing is accurate and completed on schedule.
  • Organized Administration: Keep well-structured records, check contract details, and ensure billing aligns with agreed terms.

Qualifications:

  • Matric
  • Financial qualification advantageous

 Experience and Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in the utility management field 
  • Knowledge of tariffs and their application (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of metering methodology and systems (advantageous)
  • Relevant experience in a similar role

  • Computer literate (Google Docs/ Excel preferable)
